Biography

As journalist for German news website netzpolitik.org since January 2018, I cover a broad range of issues revolving around digital rights. I do investigative reporting using data sets and FOI requests to report on issues such as state surveillance, online hate speech and lobbying by big tech companies. Since September 2018, I am netzpolitik.org's first EU correspondent based in Brussels.

Previously, I was a foreign news reporter for the Austrian Press Agency in Vienna from 2011 to 2016. I covered, among other things, the Greek crisis, the Iran nuclear talks and reported from the ground in two US presidential elections. In 2017, I was a journalist fellow at the Reuters Institute of Journalism in Oxford and wrote a report on robot journalism.
