Winny de Jong (1988) is a data journalist and data journalism trainer. She works at the Dutch national broadcast, NOS. There she tries to find news in datasets – interviewing more data than people. Previously she was employed as a data journalist at the Dutch magazine OneWorld.
Next to her work, she likes to share her love for data and journalism, focusing on data literacy and the process of data-driven investigative reporting. Winny has spoken and trained for organisations like TEDx, European Journalism Centre, the DataHarvest+ conference, and several journalism colleges.
She grew up in Rotterdam, but now lives in Amersfoort, The Netherlands. Visit her online at datajournalistiek.nl.
