Biography

David is a data reporter and visual journalism developer at the Financial Times. His reporting for the FT includes data-driven investigations into financial irregularities, online misinformation and electoral fraud. His visual and interactive journalism has been honoured with awards from bodies including the Online News Association, the Society for News Design and the Malofiej Infographic World Summit.

David moved into journalism in 2014 having studied film and worked in film production, business intelligence and communications. He graduated with a Master of Science degree in digital journalism from Goldsmiths, University of London, in 2015 and joined the FT in 2016 after freelancing for BBC News Labs. He has also written for the Guardian and Source. He writes JavaScript and Python and primarily uses React, D3 and pandas.
