Biography
I am an Egyptian journalist with 13 years of experience in the field of journalism. I've specialized in data journalism and information design in 2012, the year in which I co-founded InfoTimes that is a news website focusing on producing data-driven stories. InfoTimes received the GEN award last year for the best small newsroom. In 2017, I co-founded the Arab Data Journalists' Network that is a platform for all data journalists in the Arab world, to help them with tutorials, workshops and advice. Arab DJN holds an annual conference, in which it provides attendees with discussion panels, workshops and sessions on data journalism and anything relatable. I also have extensive experience in print, TV and online journalism. I am also a freelance data-journalism and data visualization trainer. I have given training workshops inside and outside Egypt, in cooperation with reputable organizations such as: DW, BBC Media Action, InterNews and Free Press Unlimited. I also managed to publish two books about Data Journalism.
